- Enter how long you'd like your browsing history kept.
- Check or uncheck whether you'd like information you enter into forms and search tools saved.
- Check or uncheck whether you'd like a record of files you've downloaded, like videos and music.
- Tell Flock exactly how to handle cookies, which allow websites to store personal information you've given. Click the Exceptions button for advanced options that will allow you to specify conditions for particular websites. WARNING: If you uncheck Accept third party cookies, important aspects of some Flock-supported services might no longer function, like webmail notifications and Facebook and Flickr friend monitoring. For this reason, Flock has created exceptions for these services. You may still click on the Exceptions button and remove these exceptions, but if you do, be aware some Flock features will be negatively affected.

- Tell Flock to warn you if you're about to visit a website which the broader web community has listed as malicious or dangerous (see below).

- Check Use a master password if you prefer to be prompted for one password as a key to all your other passwords. A dialog will automatically open for you to create the password, and will also provide an assessment of the password's security. (Caution: Unless you're certain you can remember a master password, don't set one. If you forget your master password, Flock won't be able to provide any of your other saved passwords.)

Protect Yourself with Instant Website ID and Anti-Malware Alert
- Click on a website's favicon at the left side of the Location Bar to activate Instant Website ID.
- This dialog box provides you with standardized information about things like what address you're connected to, whether the website is encrypted, and whether the website's security has been verified. Click More Information to open another dialog box.
- By clicking on the tabs, you can learn more about the site and your own activities on it, if the information is provided. (At this time, many safe, responsible websites still do not provide much standardized information.)
- If you try to access a website that is considered by the broader web community to be dangerous or malicious, you may see warnings like this one right in your browser window:
- Click Why was this site blocked for more information. Click Ignore this warning to continue on to the website.
