Bring Your Social Network Together

Flock lets you bring all your friends and contacts together from across a variety of different social networking websites. Then, keeping in touch with your entire social network is easier, more efficient and more fun than ever before!

Bring Your Contacts Together

1. Click the Accounts and Services key icon on the Flock Toolbar, or choose the Flock menu options View > Sidebar > Accounts and Services, to open the Accounts and Services Sidebar.

2. Click on any of the Flock-supported available People services listed in the Accounts and Services Sidebar to visit that website.
3. Log in to your existing account with that service, or create a new account.
4. When you've logged in, for example to Facebook, the People Sidebar will open automatically. You can also open it at any time by clicking on the people icon on the Flock Toolbar or by selecting View > Sidebar > People from the menu.
5. You may also be prompted with a Discovery Bar to confirm that you want Flock to remember this account.

6. Click Remember Account if you want Flock to retain your account information for automatic access the next time you open Flock. (Note: This is different than telling Flock to remember just your password, because this includes remembering your contacts, etc.) Depending on how you've logged in, even if you aren't prompted, Flock will likely still remember your account information, unless you click Forget Account in the Accounts and Services Sidebar.
7. A frame will appear at the top of the People Sidebar. The frame will show the name of the website you just logged into, your username and your picture in your Profile Card. Log out at any time by clicking Logout.

8. Below your Profile Card, the People Sidebar will also automatically display the Profile Cards for all your current contacts from that website.
9. Open the Accounts and Services Sidebar again, click on any of the other Flock-supported media or social networking websites listed, and create or log into your other accounts. All your other contacts will also be automatically added into the People Sidebar list.

View Contacts

1. After logging into one or more media or social networking accounts, click on any of the icon tabs at the top of the People Sidebar to view your own Profile Card and the Profile Cards for all your contacts at any of the individual websites.

2. Click on the All tab to view all of your contacts across all of the different websites together.

Perform Actions and Monitor Updates

1. After logging into one or more social networking websites, click on the icon tab in the People Sidebar for one of these websites.
2. Your Profile Card will display notifications about the number of new messages you have in balloons above tiny icons.
3. Click on the icons or text in your Profile Card to launch common actions associated with that website. The actions available will differ for different websites. Let's look at your Facebook Profile Card as an example.

4. Click on the phrase below your name (which will sometimes say "Update Your Status") to tell your Facebook friends what you're up to.
5. Click the mail icon to go to your Facebook inbox.
6. Click the finger icon to visit your poke list.
7. Click the person+1 icon to see new friend requests.
8. Click the two person icon to view new group requests.
9. Click the calendar icon to view new event requests.
10. Click on the My Media button in your Facebook Profile Card to view the pictures and videos you've uploaded to Facebook in the Media Bar. (For more information on using the Media Bar, see Preview and Access Media with the Media Bar.)
11. Click on the Upload button to open a dialogue box to upload new pictures to your Facebook account. (For more information on uploading media using Flock, see Share Pictures, Text and Video.)
12. If you're visiting an interesting website or looking at an interesting video in your main browser window, click on the Post Link button to post a link to that website to your Facebook account. (For more information on easy ways to share information with friends using Flock, see Share Pictures, Text and Video.)

Connect with Contacts

1. Open the People Sidebar, and click on the icon tab for one of the social networking websites you're logged into, or click on the All tab.
2. Check your friends' Profile Cards for update notifications.

3. Flock automatically checks for updates and posts notifications about events like your friends' status changes.
4. Your friends' Media button will be glowing orange if they've recently updated their pictures or videos.
5. Click on the Media button in any friend's Profile Card to instantly preview in Flock's Media Bar new pictures or videos they've uploaded.
6. Click on the Actions button in any friends' Profile Card to connect with the friend through actions available at that social networking website.

7. For example, you can send a message to a friend on Flickr or view their profile.
8. Click on the name of any contact in their Profile Card, and the main browser window will take you directly to that contact's main page.
