Overview of Flock and My World
When you first start the Flock web browser, My World opens automatically. Here's what you see:
- The Flock menus that give you text access to all of Flock's features.
- The Navigation Toolbar that provides commonly-used buttons for moving around the web.
- The Location Bar where web addresses (URLs) appear or can be entered.
- To the right of these is the Flock Search Widget, which lets you do quick, top-level searches of favorites, recently-visited sites and search engines.
- Beneath these lies the Flock Toolbar, which includes buttons for Flock's most important special features. The Favorites Toolbar is beside it.
- And beneath these begins the My World page, which includes the main web Search Tool and MyWorld tools.
- Finally, in the left column of My World is a list of Favorite Feeds. In the middle column, Friend Activity. In the right column, Favorite Media.
Now let's learn to use and customize these features.
Use and Customize Toolbars

Here are some special layout options: - Separators: These separate items on the toolbars with a small vertical line.
- Spacers: These put a fixed-size space between toolbar items.

Use and Customize My World Friend Activity, Favorite Sites, Feeds and Media
MyWorld collects updates from your favorite people and websites. There are four available columns in My World.
- Friend Activity: Collects the latest updates from your friends on the People services you have activated in Flock.
- Favorite Feeds: Collects the latest articles from feeds you've subscribed to.
- Favorite Media: Collects the latest photos and videos from people you've starred in the Media Bar.
- Favorite Sites: Collects your most recently visited favorited sites.
As you use Flock, all of these lists update automatically with your most-recently viewed or subscribed websites, feeds, media and friend updates. To interact with any of these columns, click the name of a website, person, or article in any of the columns to view that website, person, or article in a new tab or window.
MyWorld shows three columns by default: Friend Activity, Favorite Feeds, and Favorite Media. To adjust which columns you see in My World, click the Widgets button. This dropdown menu will show you all four columns. Clicking checked column names will remove them from MyWorld (you can always add them back later). Clicking unchecked column names will add them to My World. You can also remove columns from MyWorld by clicking the small x in the top corner of the column. To move columns around MyWorld, click the arrow buttons to the left of the x.
You can change the title of My World by clicking the text "My World" and typing what you would like it to be called. Press enter to save the name.
Using the Diggman
Flock's Diggman feature keeps you updated about the latest on the social news site, Digg. Stories and webpages on Digg are voted (or "Dugg") to the top of the listings by users.
Flock's Diggman icon is located on the right side of the addressbar, to the left of the "Share this link via email" button. Clicking the Diggman will provide a list of the top 5 stories on Digg as well as a "Digg this story" button that will Digg (vote for or submit to Digg) the page you are currently on. The Diggman icon will glow when one of the top 5 stories has over 5000 Diggs.
You can disable the Diggman by clicking the Diggman and then clicking "Options". Uncheck the "Enable Digg flyout" checkbox to remove the Diggman.
Access Flock's Advanced Features
- To fully access Flock's advanced features for social networking, tracking feeds etc, click on any of the buttons on the Flock Toolbar, or on any of the text buttons across the top of the My World page.
- For more information on using these features, explore Flock Features on the Flock User Reference Guide contents page.
