Reading RSS feed headlines

Does anybody know how to set the feedreader in Flock side panel to read more than 3 headlines ? I checked the TOOLS>Options - doesn't seem to say much.

I'm not sure I understand your question? Are you trying to view a feed, and only see three headlines? When you click on a feed from the sidebar on the left, and view it in the main area, are you viewing headlines, an abstract, or the full entry? Check the icons in the blue bar to switch between these viewing modes.

I'm sorry if this doesn't answer your question.

Yes, what I am basically trying to do is to get more than 3 headlines. Is that possible ?

Are you only seeing three old stories, and are expecting newer headlines/stories to appear?

Can you try subscribing to the Boston.com business section RSS feed? When you first subscribe, you should have about six stories. As additional stories are added, and Flock checks the content, you should get new stories. If you read the first few headlines from a feed, you can scroll down to read additional headlines in that feed, if there are any more unread.

I have a little over 50 feeds, and over 2000 unread headlines. Clearly some I don't expect to get to, but it is definitely possible to get more than 3 headlines.

Does that mean that the feed headlines that show is up to the number of updates (headlines) that appear on the RSS feed ?

What I am actually looking for is whether there is a way to set the number of headlines that can appear for a certain RSS feed say like what you can do through iGoogle -> Edit -> Settings. ?

Hi there,

As far as I'm aware, this isn't possible in with the Flock feed reader. Currently, it's set to display all of them, but I have passed this suggestion onto the developers.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Are you referring to the Feeds sidebar on the left or the headlines in the "My World" page on the right? The headlines in the My World page will show you up to four unread headlines from your feeds, and will show info from the most-recently-updated one at the top.

If you're following a feed and have not read two headlines from them, you'll only see those two headlines there. If you click to read the only unread headline for that RSS feed, that feed will not appear on the My World page until new content arrives or you mark a headline from that feed as unread.

So, if this is all the case, you should get four headlines unless you don't have four unread headlines in that feed.

There's no visible way to change this number to increase the number to show right now.
