I installed 2.0b2. I'm having a problem that makes it unusable for me (crashes netmeeting). I love flock and want to get back to 1.2 and save my settings.
Anything special I have to do to make that happen?

How does Microsoft Netmeeting interact with Flock? Are there links from Netmeeting that should open in Flock, but don't? Do you only have problems if Flock is already open, or if Netmeeting needs to open Flock?
You should be able to uninstall the beta and reinstall 1.2 without any problems. Just to be sure, make a copy of your profile (profile location FAQ) before uninstalling and reinstalling 1.2.
If you do have problems, you can go back to the 2.0 beta, export RSS feeds and bookmarks, delete the profile (delete the Browser folder rather than just the [string of random characters].default), and get Flock 1.2 back on the machine.
Flock keeps crashing. I guess I probably need to uninstall and reinstall, but when I run a search on my hard drive for flock, I can only find the application itself. There are probably preference folders, etc., right? How do I uninstall completely and reinstall?
Thanks.
During the uninstallation Flock should ask if you would like to remove settings and preferences. If you click "no" then your settings and everything will be there when you install Flock again.
The only thing is I'm not sure if installing an older version will adopt them new settings and preferences.

You can try a fresh profile folder if Flock is crashing. That is not normal behavior, so perhaps there is a small corruption in your profile. If you'd like instructions on how to do so, please email me directly at the address listed below.

Hi Chris. There is no connection between Netmeeting and Flock that I can tell. But if flock 2beta is open netmeeting crashes when you make a call. Neither app was linking to to the other.
Thanks for the advice, will do as you recommended.
Ended up after uninstalling another time and reinstalling 1.2.4. I noticed I had 1.2.3 on my system and the installation of .3 solved the problem. I think I will wait until the next beta of 2.0 or 1.2.5 to change anything.
Thanks for your help on the crashes, Jen. I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it's no longer crashing. But now the blog editor suddenly stopped working a couple days ago. It just doesn't respond when I click it. I also tried highlighting text and choosing "Blog this" from the list that appears. No editor window appears.
Do I have to uninstall and reinstall again...? And the profile, too...?
What version of Flock are you currently on? You can find this out by typing about: in the URL bar above.
Hi ppDawggy,
Thanks for contacting us. It's not guaranteed that your Favorites and other settings would transfer. The Beta 2 profile's differ a lot from the 1.2 version profiles- so we're not 100% sure how going back would affect it.
You can back up your profile by following these instructions... Flock FAQs. It's worth doing incase this doesn't go as planned. Good luck!

I've been using flock v2.0b2 as my primary browser since July. I was having trouble downloading version 1.2 so I tried the beta and fell in love. Is there enough of a difference to even consider a change to version 1.2
I would stay with the Flock 2.0 Beta since you're enjoying it. The main release of 2.0 will be coming out this fall. And by using the Beta you're getting Firefox 3's new technology. It's what I use everyday and I love it!
Please let me know if you have anymore questions or concerns about Flock.

Jen,
I am having considerable problems with the Flock browser. After upgrading to the 2.0 Beta version, I lost all of my sidebar functionality. I have uninstalled the 2.0 Beta and reinstalled the 1.2 version of Flock, however my sidebar is still not functioning. This includes: People, My World, Feeds, Favorites, Accounts & Services, etc.
Did you back up your profile before upgrading? When you upgraded, did you uninstall Flock 1.2 first, then install the 2.0 Beta, or install 2.0 Beta directly?
It sounds to me like you are using a brand new profile without any of your saved information from 1.2. If you uninstalled Flock 1.2 and clicked "No" when the uninstaller asked if you wanted to keep your profile information. This unfortunately might meant that your previous information from 1.2 is lost.
If you locate your profile information, how many folders are there with weird names like 942ur3pf.default? You might need to go into the Profiles folder to find them, if you are on Windows.
Vance,
Thanks, for the reply. Lets start from square one!
I currently have Flock 1.2 running. There is no sidebar functionality. In the Flock profile files on my C Drive, I did backup and rename the profile folder after deleting the 2.0 Beta. It reads as follows: C:/docs & settings/admin/ app.data/flock/browser/profiles/xxtw7lk4.default. None of the Firefox add-ons will export into Flock. They were all there before I downloaded the 2.0 Beta version of Flock. Since reinstalling the 1.2 version, I still have no sidebar functionality. At this point, I'm ready to punt..... Please advise.....
Thanks for letting us know. A few questions for you, if you don't mind.
Which accounts/services did you have logged in? What's missing in the Sidebar? Is Flock remembering anything (passwords, etc)? If you go the webpage, ie. Facebook, are you automatically logged in or is that information missing as well? I'm looking for more clarification on what you mean by the Sidebar functionality being lost.
Please let me know when you get a chance and we'll go from there.
Thanks! Jen Anderberg

Jen,
In a previous email I delineated exactly what was missing.
To the best of my knowledge this is what I had in the sidebar before the Flock crash:
Gmail, Youtube, Flicker, & Digg was open. I also downloaded Twitter, Twhirl, FriendFeed and Facebook. My World was activated. People sidebar was active and open. Media bar was active and open. Favorites was open; as was the Clipboard. I also had several toolbars at the top, now the only toolbar I have is the 30DC toolbar which I just recently added by download. I genuinely want to use Flock as my Browser, but this is ridiculous. Can you help.

Thanks for getting back to me. I definitely understand your frustration, and really do appreciate your patience. Just to clarify, when you renamed/backed-up your profile, did you try Flock with a fresh profile folder? Or did you just back up your old profile?
Have you tried running Flock in safe mode, to see if any of your add-ons have caused some issues? (http://flock.com/faq/show/30#q_61805). Can you please try this, and a clean profile with Flock, and let me know if it works properly?
Thanks, hope to hear from you soon.
