Why is it that I keep getting a message that say JavaScript is running slow do you want to continue? How do I fix this?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. A couple of quick questions: Which sites are you on when you see this? And what extensions are you running if any?

Thanks, hope to hear from you soon.

The 2 that this comes up on are www.odesk.com and www.myyearbook.com. I have Keyscrambler, ViewSourceWith, Custom Buttons, and Hyperwords. That is all. I have tried to fix it but no luck. Thanks for the help.

I recently posted a massage about error messages saying JavaScript is unresponsive do you want to close. I get this message at 2 sites http://www.myyearbook.com, and http://www.odesk.com. I only have Keyscrambler, Custom Buttons, and Hypertext installed. Can you give me an update on how to fix this problem.

Hello,

Thanks for the details. Would you mind trying disabling all of your extensions and then seeing if the issue reproduces? Even if extensions say they're compatible with Flock or Firefox, sometimes they still hamper the functionality of the browser. Please let me know how it goes and we'll for from there.

Thanks so much,

Disabling my extensions did not work. It still comes up. It is unresponsive script. It says the page is busy or the page is not responding. Do you want to continue running script.

Hi again,

Thanks for getting back to me and sorry to hear that. Can you possibly provide another example of a site that doesn't require membership? I can sign up to give it a try too. Do you see the same issue on other browsers such as Firefox?

Thanks for your time,

I can't think of another one that doesn't have to have a membership. The other one is www.odesk.com. You have to be a member there too. I've only seen it at these 2 sites.

I am getting another error message that says Shockwave has performed an illegal action and flock needs to close. This was on www.myspace.com. All these messages are happening at social networking sites it seems. Well myyearbook and myspace. The other one odesk.com is a freelance graphic design site.

I was just wondering if you had any news on why I keep getting the error message JavaScript is unresponsive. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for letting me know. I don't have anything to report yet, but I have sent this link to our QA team in hopes of some confirmation. With their testing, we can confirm it's a bug and file/fix it! If not perhaps they will have some more suggestions for us to get this working for you!

Thanks for your patience,

Hi again,

I talked to one of our QA team leads and she was hoping that we could get your My Space URL (which encounters the java script error).

Please let me know!

Thanks,

It's on www.myyearbook.com. The link is this. http://www.myyearbook.com/jeremytheartman

Usually the problem happens when I log on and shortly after the page loads or as the page loads. So I am not sure that the link to my page will have the problem because it happens going from page to page. Also while loading pages.

I was wondering if any of the tech people found out about the unresponsive JavaScript. I've tried all kinds of things to fix it. I hope somebody in Tech Support can tell me what to do.

Hi Jeremy,

Can you possibly try this page with a clean profile and let me know how it goes? Please close Flock, rename your profile folder or move it to your desktop. Once you restart Flock with a fresh profile please let me know if the issue still persists.

Thanks,

That did not work. It still does it. There has to be some reason why JavaScript isn't working right. I would think the people that developed the browser should know how to fix it. Somehow there must be a way to fix it.

Hello Jeremy,

Would you mind sending me (staff-qa@flock.com) a screenshot of the unresponsive Javascript dialog up, please? Also, does it happen when you are viewing a video or photo or viewing your friends' page or your own page? If you would give me the url that can trigger this error, it would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Patricia
