"You are not currently logged into Facebook" error

My Flock browser is displaying "You are not currently logged into Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr" in my People Sidebar.

I am currently logged into those services.

Flock is incapable of picking up on this fact. I have clicked the Login button many times, and removed the accounts, and nothing matter, Flock just can't get it through it's head that I am logged into Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.

I´m using Flick 1.1.

Hello Reporter,

I am sorry to hear that. Are you using Flock 1.1, which can be downloaded from www.flock.com or you just upgraded to Flock 1.1? Is your facebook primary language set to non-English? If yes, this is a known bug for facebook friends are not shown at the people sidebar. You can refer to bug 12396. Have you tried to press "forgot Account" at Accounts and Services sidebar under Flickr, facebook, & twitter accounts? Then relogin to those services.

Please let me know if the problems are not resolved.

Cheers,

Patricia

The same thing has happened to me multiple times. It is unpredictable. I end up having to restart flock, and it usually fixes. Super annoying :(

Hi Patricia, I´m using Flock 1.1, which I downloaded yesterday. I tried many times the option "forgot account". I have this problem not only with facebook, but twitter and flickr too. I´m not the only one with this problem, I visited the Flock group in Facebook and there is some people reporting this bug. What could I do?

The same thing happened with my Flickr account (I'm using Flock 1.1). Forgetting both the accounts and re-introducing didn't help much, but switching the user languages of both my Facebook and Flickr accounts did help. Now Flock shows me as logged in all the time.

Hello Alexander,

Would you try the following steps, please?
1. Close Flock
2. Rename the Flock profile at:\Documents and Settings\[your login profile name]\Application Data\Flock\Browser\
3. Start Flock
4. Login to facebook

Please let me know whether it works for you or not.

Hello :)
I downloaded Flocks this morning.
I used to use French on my Facebook account. Flocks sees the account but don't see when I'm connected. The sidebar always offer me to log on.

I tried to forget the account, log on again, change the language to English, re-forget the account.... re-launch Flocks... nothing happens.

The link to bug 12396 is interesting, but how to use it ?

Similar problem when trying to log on Flickr. A little batter : for a few seconds, it sees that I am connected on Flickr... Just 1,5 second I think ^^

What should I rename the Flock profile to? I tried all the other steps but nothing worked.

Hey folks,

I suspect Facebook changed something on their side and we'll need to make a fix for the sidebar to work. We'll look into this right away and try to get a fix out to you.

I'm having the same problem. Youtube and flickr work just dandy... but facebook is really the reason I'm considering switching to Flock.
And it's not working. At all.

Hey folks,

Thanks to a very helpful Flockstar, we've hunted down the issue. We're working on a fix at this very moment. In the meantime, you may be able to get this working again by going to Facebook and clicking the "privacy" link on the upper right of the page.

Thanks to everyone for your help identifying this issue and for being so patient!

Evan, Is there a privacy setting that we should change, or should we just click on the privacy link?

Evan Hamilton

March 30, 2008 - 7:23pm

Hey folks,

Just clicking "privacy" or "account" should solve the issue. If it doesn't, please let me know.

Hey Folks,

We believe that Flock 1.1.1 should fix this bug. Before we roll out auto-updates, could you all help us out by downloading 1.1.1 from flock.com (just click the download button in the upper right) and installing it? It will keep all your settings, just like a normal upgrade. Please let us know what the results are!

Thanks,

Flock 1.1.1 user (US English version) running Mac OS X 10.5.2 ("Leopard"), and I can't get Facebook to reappear on my People side bar or get news updates on the My World page for Facebook.

I've tried forgetting the account & restarting Flock, and it's just not working.

Thanks, Evan.

I forced the service update, and that solved the problem. I have since received the upgrade to 1.1.2, and I am happy to say that it is working perfectly.

Hi there,
I'm using Flock 1.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.2 and it seems like this bug has reappeared... I can't get it to work with facebook. tried clicking the privacy button, logging in and out, 'forgetting' the account and setting it up again etc.

Any ideas?

I'm getting the same problem with 1.1.2 on a Windows XP today. Worked great yesterday. I've tried forgetting the account and re-logging in, but nothing.

Bridgete

I'm getting the same problem. I'm using 1.1.2, and I was able to have Facebook logged in on my people sidebar until late last night. I have tried forgetting the account, restarting Flock, everything.

I checked the Privacy link, one thing is that Flock is not listed in my permitted applications for some reason, and I can't find how to put it in the list. I don't know if being able to add it to that list will help the problem, that probably depends on whether those who do have the program added to that list still have the same problem.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for letting us know.

We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix as we speak. Facebook released a change on their website last night, and this is causing the People Sidebar to continually say “You are not currently logged into Facebook...”

The progress of the fix is available at this link: here if you are interested. But otherwise, we will be putting out an automatic update in the next day or so. So we thank you for your patience and support.

I had this problem with 1.1.2, so just upgraded to 1.1.4. Still have the problem, even though I've clicked the privacy link on Facebook, and it said that Flock was logged in (though the side bar said not), so I clicked log out there. I've forgotten the account and re-added it, and logged in and out a few times. Still not solved it :-(

The 1.1.4 update fixed it for a few hours, now it's back again.

I seem to have resolved it, at least for now - following reading another thread, I tried forcing a service update and then restarting Flock. So far, so good!

I'm having the same problem with facebook. I'm on Flock 1.1.2 on Windows XP. Not finding any solutions. Most of the url's from your team above don't work. Suggest you try to replicate and reopen the bug.

Hey Boz,

You are running Flock 1.1.2. This bug was fixed in 1.1.4. Please upgrade by going to Help>Check for Updates or by downloading and running the installer from flock.com.
