I am having problem with installing newest Adobe Flash Player for newest Flock. I have successfully installed it to IE7. Is there something missing in the newest flash player support or something for Flock? Oh, I have Vista Basic.

If you have installed MediaWrap, disable it. It worked for me.
We've gotten a few scattered reports of this, but we're having trouble reproducing. In almost all cases, running the installer seemed to fix it. Grab 1.1.1 from flock.com and run the installer (it'll keep all your data). Let me know if the problem persists.

having the same trouble - using latest flock from flock.com, but installing Flash is failing. Works in IE7, but having the same trouble with Firefox beta. Running Vista ultimate
My procedure was to download the installer to desktop then shut down all browsers. Ran the installer through its' paces and then when I restarted Flock I got a screen saying Adobe will now install Flash Player in Flock. All is now joy...
Thanks for letting us know it's working now. If anyone else is having still having issues with this please let me know! And if you could include some steps as to how you got there, that would be very helpful. Thanks!

Ran 1.1.2 installer on WinXP Pro and it fails to install Adobe 9. Tried to copy NPSWF32.dll. but it fails too. No browser running and don't have MediaWrap installed. Any ideas?
I'm assuming that this was an upgrade, or an install with Flock already installed..? If that's the case, can you please download 1.1.2 again and save it to your desktop. And then uninstall Flock and reboot your computer. After that please reinstall Flock, and see if it works from there. The reason I'm getting you to do this is because one of the files you need may be locked in the old version. Please try this out and let me know, thanks so much.

Thanks for your response. I already tried your suggestions several times before my prior post. What finally worked, with Flock opened, I went to another site that had a link to Adobe Flash download and installed from there. Makes no sense but its working so I'm happy. Hopefully your future releases will overwrite the previous version and not require reboot.
Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it. I'm glad to hear you found a solution, my apologies for my workaround not doing the trick. I'm hoping this issue will be fixed in a future release as well :) I'll keep you posted if I hear anything!
Thanks again, Jen Anderberg

hey, can't install Adobe Flash Player 9 with Flock. It gets hung, keeps showing 4 items left to install. I run an Intel-based Mac. This update caught me by surprise..at midnight, YouTube disabled my old player and I had to download 9. But it isn't working with Flock. Browser is closed, per Adobe installer instructions, but it has been hung for a while now. Ideas?
For Mac users, I would recommend running all Operating System and security updates that are available via Software Update. After that, reboot if prompted. Then check for your Flash version.
Please let me know if this works.
Thanks
Christopher
EDITED TO ADD: Sorry for not making this clear: Apple has included the Flash security fix in some of its latest OS and security patches.
Hi Christopher. Unfortunately, I've tried all of the above and get the same message that says 4 items left to install and that it's searching my hard drive. Any idea what it's searching for at this point in the install? I've been trying off and on for months to get this to work with no luck. I have a powerpc G4 mac which shouldn't have a problem.
Recently I downloaded Comodo Fire Wall (on the advice from PC Magazin...)onto my computer running Vista Home Premium SP1. After a couple of days trial I decided to uninstall it, as I found it to interruptive to my work. In most cases it kept asking approval as many as 6-9 times for a particular application, and doing it so frequently that it really hampered my work.
Now; on installing the programme it’s first action was asking permission to disable Macromedia Flash Player 8, quoting that it could be harmful for my system. Naturally I approved it, as I trusted Comodo’s know how better that my own.
However after uninstalling Comodo Fire Wall, Macromedia Flash Player 8 still doesn’t work, and no matter how many times I am trying to download and install it, it simply not being recognised by my system. It seems that Comodo Fire Wall must have changed something in the Registry (or elsewhere) that prohibits the application.
Could anybody advise what can I do and how, in order to be able to use Macromedia Flash Player again?

Hey JDavi,
If you run the Flock 1.1.1 installer again, does it fix it?

Try following Jen's instructions.
Nexus' steps may help as well.
If you have additional problems, look at the Comodo support site or forums.

Hi Mike,
have you found a solution in the meantime? I have the same problem and try to fix it since two days......
