How to open Favorites in new tab?

Hey all,

I would like a help or a hint or a hack if anyone knows how to force opening of favorites in new tab. Now, whenever forget to open a new tab for a Favorite i want to read (which is just about all the time) it opens in the current active tab, thus effectively destroying anything i was already viewing or doing there.

The most annoying is when I want to open several Favorites at once, it has to be done in a tiring manner of opening new tab, opening the Favorite, opening new tab, opening Favorite....

Can I override this behaviour in about:config or any other way?

Furthermore, clicking on ANY link in the sidebar (wheteher is it my Feeds page, Accounts page, People page or whatever) the same thing happens, Flock opens the desired link over my currently viewing page. 'Tis tiresome and ugly!

If one could make it so that all links that I click in the interface (Favorites, Sidebar...) are opened in a new Tab, that would be so much helpful!

Thanks all for reading this little rant of mine :)

If you are on windows, hold down the ctrl key whilst clicking on the favorite/feed/sidebar item etc

If on a Mac, hold down the cmd key.

You can always install a Firefox tab manager like Tab Mix Plus, they are compatible with Flock.

Light extension than Tab Mix Plus: CLICK2TAB
http://click2tab.mozdev.org/

If cant install, change the maxVersion inside the .xpi

I too find it rather annoying that Flock insists on opening all Favourites (and other links) in the current tab, and not in a new one.

Its ok that I can ctrl-click or middlemouse click, but this behaviour is not something I am used to do, and old habbits die hard :)

I would rather have a setting somewhere, where I can set the default behavior of Flock internal links - current tab, new tab, new window.

On top of that, I'd like to have the tab open to the right of the currently active tab, should I have more than one tab already open. The control-click thing always makes the favorite the right-most tab.

Seems pretty stupid to have to download an extension, not sure why it isnt an automatic feature.

I agree as well. I would really like it if Flock operated as Netscape 8+ did. If this is supposed to be the replacement for Netscape, then it should have the same features. There are several issues, including this one that should be addressed in the next version... e.g. being able to close the Online Favorites, having the password manager feature that used to appear above a page, etc.
