How do you make a profit?

I dont want to pry, but I have a few questions:

1) How do you generate money? Donations? Is this a wing of some company?

2) What did you use to create this website?

3) What programing language did you use to create Flock?

Thank you.

nukenate, the flock, opera, ie user.

Hey nukenate,

1) We have teamed with Yahoo! to monetize our search. Yahoo! is the search default (though it can be easily changed), and every time a Flock user uses that search and clicks a sponsored link, we get a cut.

2) Photoshop and Drupal, primarily.

3) The developers tell me we created Flock with "mostly Javascript, with some C++ in the back-end". Flock is built off of the Firefox architecture.

Hope that answers your questions. Flock on!

What about the deal with Photobucket? I ask because that's how I came to start using Flock.

Hey alhazred,

Flock is a partner friendly product and company and Flock is a powerful platform for distribution and marketing partners who receive a custom browser optimized for their business to drive engagement and incremental revenue from their communities both on and beyond their site. To date, we've shipped editions of its browser for Photobucket and Piczo.

Flock on,

HEY you guys. If you monetized your subscriber searches with Yahoo, you should SHARE that revenue with US, your subscribers. We will spread the word for you and you will propagate faster if you share your revenues with other online marketers like myself. I alone would get you thousands of subs under me, if you gave me part of your revenue. Let's not get greedy.

The Web is looking for someone to share in this way, Two or Three Levels is all you need to pay.

You're welcome.

We're sharing our Revenues, how about you?

Hey Mike,

Definitely an interesting idea that I'm sure has been discussed before and will be again. I think it's a bit presumptuous to say we "should" share the revenue...we're giving you a free browser. However, incentives to promote are definitely one way to get a product out there.

I think that so far is looks like a great product. Great idea. I am a web marketer and would love to get involved promoting this. Are you doing any kind of revenue sharing? If so can you send me the link?

Thanks,

Steve

Hey IsMyOnlyFriend, sorry, gotta censor you here. This forum is for friendly discussion, and what you wrote doesn't jive with that vibe.

For those of you that think we as Flockstars should have revenue shared because we're spreading the word, get a job online, working your own hours etc, and do that job with all the time you save from using such a well-implemented product.

I have the feeling that this would be more than any revenue would be shared between all of us.
