If you are going to try running Flock with a clean profile but want to keep your favorites and feeds, here are the steps:
Feeds:
1. Open the Feeds sidebar
2. Click "Feed Options"
3. Click "Export feeds"
4. Choose a name and click "Save"
Favorites:
1. Open the Favorites menu
2. Click "Organize Favorites"
3. Open the "Import and Backup" menu
4. Choose "Export HTML"
5. Choose a name and click "Save"
It's good to back up your Flock profile from time to time. Errant extensions, beta versions, or profile corruption do cause issues with Flock occasionally, and being safe is always better than being sorry.
To backup your profile, follow these instructions
Mac OS X:
Go to (your home folder)>Library>Application Support
Make a copy of the "Flock" folder
Linux :
Go to ~/.flock/browser/
Make a copy of the "Flock" folder
Windows 2000 and XP:
Go to the C drive
Open the Tools menu
Click "Folder Options"
Go to the View tab
Check "Show hidden files and folders" (that way all of the magical hidden data should show)
From there go into Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data
Make a copy of the "Flock" folder
Windows Vista:
Go to the C drive
Open the Tools menu
Click "Folder Options"
Go to the View tab
Check "Show hidden files and folders" (that way all of the magical hidden data should show)
From there go to C:\Users\[your login profile name]\AppData\Roaming
Flock stores all your personal settings, such as bookmarks, passwords and extensions in a profile. The profile is stored on your hard drive in a profile folder. The profile folder has a weird name -- a string of eight characters followed by ".default"; for example, "942ur3pf.default". Here's where to find it:
Mac OS X:
1. Go to (your home folder)>Library>Application Support>Flock
Linux:
1. Go to ~/.flock/browser/Flock
Windows 2000 and XP:
1. Go to the C drive
2. Open the Tools menu
3. Click "Folder Options"
4. Go to the View tab
5. Check "Show hidden files and folders" (that way all of the magical hidden data should show)
6. From there go into Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Flock\Browser\Profiles
Windows Vista:
1. Go to the C drive
2. Open the Tools menu
3. Click "Folder Options"
4. Go to the View tab
5. Check "Show hidden files and folders" (that way all of the magical hidden data should show)
6. From there go to C:\Users\[your login profile name]\AppData\Roaming\Flock\Browser\Profiles
