Flock does not detect my Photobucket account, what can I do?

Just like Flock under goes various updates from time to time, web services such as Photobucket make changes on a regular basis. Every so often, one of these changes will adversely affect Flocks ability to properly configure itself to work with your Photobucket account. While Flock will automatically download any and all fixes, if you are still experiencing issues configuring your Photobucket account after installing Flock .9, the update to fix this can be manually installed.

First, point Flock to http://extensions.flock.com/webdetective/cormorant/photobucket.xml and save the file (File->Save Page As) in a location you will be able to find it. Next, navigate to your local Flock profile. If you are unsure of where this is, please see http://www.flock.com/faq/show/30#q_387. Once in the browser folder, go to Profiles -> (random characters).default -> detect. Now, take the photobucket.xml file you downloaded earlier, and put it in this folder, making sure to overwrite the one currently in the folder.

Restart your browser, and now you should have no issues configuring your Photobucket account!

How do I get rid of the black bar that appears when I mouse over images?

The black bar that appears when you mouse over YouTube videos and photos from Flickr and Photobucket is called Flockmagic and gives you instant tools for that image. However, if you just have to get rid of it, follow these steps:

1. Type about:config in the address bar, hit enter
2. Right click "Preference Name" and choose New>Boolean
3. Name it "flock.magic.enabled" and click OK
4. Set value to false
5. Restart Flock

WARNING: about:config contains a number of very advanced options that could permanently damage your version of Flock. Please adhere strictly to the steps above.

Issues with Photobucket sub albums

In the past there was an issue with Flock and Photobucket where subalbums are no longer accessible. This affects both uploading of photos in the bulk photo uploader as well as viewing photos in the photo bar. Photobucket and FLock have worked together to solve this problem. If you're still having issues, please report this on our support Forums

What do I do when I get a "The file you are trying to upload seems to be damaged" error?

The first thing to check is to see if the photo can be uploaded directly to the service like Flickr or Photobucket from their websites. If it can't, then the photo is likely to be truly damaged.

If you can upload the photo or image directly to the photo sharing service through their website than please check to make sure there are no special non-english characters in folders that contain the images (or the folders that contain the folders). This is not a great experience for non English speaking users and we are looking to fix this in an upcoming release.
