I’m pleased to share news of the progress we’ve made over the last few months. In late February we completed the first full development sprint of the year (and only slipped a few days past our 5 week schedule). This engineering cycle was followed-up with a Flock “bug day” where developers from around the world volunteered to help us make Flock as good as possible (see post here). Congratulations to the Flock development team, who are already back at work and in the final sprint cycle to meet our internal milestones for the next upgrade to our public beta release.
Some of the upgrades you’ll see in our next release include: Support for Video in the Media bar, Blog editor support for many additional platforms, Bookmarks with folders, publishing support for Ma.gnolia, and many additional upgrades leveraging the best from Firefox’s 2.0 Platform (in-line spell checking, anti-phishing, session recovery, etc.)
On a business note, I’m happy to report that more people than ever are using Flock. Over the last few weeks we’ve hit an all-time high for active users. We surpassed all prior records for total downloads, and it’s thrilling for us to see the community engage and respond in a positive manner to the experience we offer, and to share their feedback and ideas with us as we focus on developing a product and platform that is designed to enrich the connected experience for tens of millions of users around the world.
We have also continued to grow our team, and to this end I am excited to welcome two key new hires. In Canada, Mark Lise has joined our development team, and recently in Mountain View we welcomed a new QA engineer, Sophie Sam-Lai. We’re enthusiastic about the new talent that's joining Flock - please join me in welcoming Mark and Sophie to the team! They - along with the rest of the Flock team - will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals for shipping lots of new product value in 2007.
As you know, the primary goal I’ve set for Flock in 2007 is to transform us from a great idea company and into a world-class innovation and execution company. We’re off to a great start this year and I look forward to working with all of you in the Flock community as we continue to execute on this promise together.

Just wanted to say welcome to the new peeps and congrats on the Cormarant progress thus far - good things come to those that wait :-)
I suspect that all the new additions will not be immediately apparent as you have clearly done a lot of good backend stuff - Firefox got the same kind of 'well not much has changed' for 1.5 to 2.0 but after a while people began to appreciate it. This will obviously pay dividends for the future and of course a great foundation for Danphe.

Thanks for your question. I have no insight on your missing post - we haven't deleted any. It may have gotten caught by the spam-bot for some reason.
We launched our beta product last summer and enjoyed over a million downloads of Flock v0.7 by the end of 2006. Since the beginning of 2007 we've seen an uptick in downloads and - most importantly - Flock's number of total active users. It is Flock's policy to not disclose publicly the details of these specific numbers.
We are thrilled to see the Flock community continue to grow and look forward to introducing everyone to the enhancements in our upcoming release.

I'll be damn glad to see bookmarks with folders in the next version of Flock. I abandoned flock a while back due to that, and only that, reason. There was so much about it I loved, but not being able to have folders on my bookmarks toolbar... I couldn't live without it!
Hope to see the new release soon, and then I'll almost certainly become a full-time Flock-star!
