Senior Software Engineer
Randy was born and raised in Alberta (aka the Canadian Texas), lived and worked in the Bay Area for ten years, and then moved to Victoria in 2003. Randy joined Flock in 2007 because he was promised free black t-shirts. He now owns 35 Flock shirts.
Well known for being able to jam on his guitar while coding via telekinesis, Randy is popular in both technical and musical circles. He says that punk rock changed his life, though he gives major points to his family as well.
Randy likes to play hockey, coach softball, jam, listen to loud music, and use Flock to check for Facebook updates when he should be coding.
Everyone at Flock North enjoys Randy's company, and Randy enjoys the fact that he is no longer writing pagination code for companies that make telephone directories (he still can't walk past a phone book without picking it up and examining its listing and ad placements).
